Fast bowler Brendan Doggett is the newest addition to the Adelaide Strikers, after signing a two-year deal to move south from the Sydney Thunder.

In 41 games for both the Thunder and Brisbane Heat, Doggett has taken 40 wickets with a best of 5-35.

The 29-year-old is familiar with South Australian cricket, having been part of the State program for the last two seasons.

He will link up with his Redbacks teammates and fellow fast bowlers Wes Agar and Henry Thornton at the Strikers.

“South Australia is home now so to be able to stay here for 12 months of the year with my young family is great,” Doggett said.

“It’s exciting to join a group with a lot of players and staff that I am familiar with, as well as getting to play more at a packed Adelaide Oval.”

Adelaide Strikers Head Coach Jason Gillespie said Doggett is a great addition to the Strikers fast bowling stocks.

“We’ve seen Brendan up close in our domestic program and he is a real asset to any team he is in,” Gillespie said.

“Brendan is an incredibly hard worker and we are excited to add his pace and experience to our squad.”

Doggett is the third new Striker to join the club ahead of BBL|13, with D’Arcy Short and James Bazley also moving to the Strikers.

Tickets are now on sale for the BBL|13 season. Secure your seat here so you don’t miss a moment of the action!
