The world’s best One-Day International batter, Nat Sciver-Brunt, will return to familiar Western Australian shores next month, signing with Perth Scorchers for the upcoming Weber Women’s Big Bash League season.

Having starred for the Scorchers in WBBL|03 and WBBL|05 – winning Perth’s WBBL|05 Player of the Year award –Sciver-Brunt joins after draftee and compatriot Danni Wyatt recently withdrew from the tournament citing fatigue.

She is expected to available from 5 November, completing a potent list of overseas signings that also includes skipper Sophie Devine (New Zealand), wicketkeeper-batter Amy Jones (England) and top-order batter Lauren Winfield-Hill (England).

Perth Scorchers Memberships, and tickets for every Perth Scorchers Weber WBBL|09 and KFC BBL|13 match are now available. Don’t miss your chance to be part of the Orange Army this season.

Sciver-Brunt is a proven commodity in the WBBL, tallying 1,204 runs and claiming 55 wickets from 66 appearances with the Scorchers (29) and Melbourne Stars (37).

The 31-year-old boasts an equally impressive international record, ranked by the ICC as the No.1 ODI batter and No.4 ODI allrounder.

In 220 games for England (nine Tests, 100 ODIs and 111 T20Is), Sciver-Brunt has notched up 6,222 runs and taken 159 wickets across formats since making her England debut in 2013.

That tally includes 998 runs at 62.37 from 22 Ashes innings, including four centuries, three half-centuries, and her best ODI score of 148 not-out.

Upon signing for her second stint with the Scorchers, Sciver-Brunt said:

“I’m thrilled to be returning to Perth to play in one best T20 competitions in the world. I loved my first stint with the Scorchers and also loved my time in WA.

“We have a balanced squad with a lot of talent and I can tell there’s a lot of belief in our ability to win another title.

“Reuniting with the Scorchers’ Members and fans next month will be pretty special, so I’m excited to get back over there and get stuck in.”

Perth Scorchers General Manager – High Performance & Elite Teams Kade Harvey said:

“Nat is clearly a world-class cricketer and an exceptional character, who offers the group a lot in terms of her ability and leadership.

“She can score heavily and quickly in the top and middle-order, while her versatility with the ball will be another asset for us.

“We feel her rounded skillset complements our squad perfectly, and we are looking forward to her performing strongly for the Scorchers in WBBL|09.”
