Abhishek Nayar has rejoined the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) coaching staff for the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) season. Nayar, who previously served as KKR‘s assistant coach, played a pivotal role in developing the team’s Indian core, contributing to their IPL 2024 championship victory.
During his earlier tenure, Nayar was instrumental in nurturing talents like Rinku Singh, Varun Chakravarthy, Venkatesh Iyer, Harshit Rana, and Angkrish Raghuvanshi. His mentorship was notably acknowledged by Raghuvanshi, who referred to Nayar as his “guru and mentor,” highlighting the significant impact on his cricketing journey.
Nayar’s return is anticipated to strengthen KKR’s coaching framework, working alongside head coach Chandrakant Pandit and mentor Dwayne Bravo. His expertise is expected to further enhance the performance of the team’s domestic players as they aim to defend their title in the upcoming season.
