The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has scheduled its Annual General Body Meeting for September 29 in Bengaluru, where the new National Cricket Academy (NCA) is expected to be inaugurated later this month.
While the election for the new secretary, with Jay Shah anticipated to take up an ICC role in December, is not part of the meeting’s agenda, the date for a Special General Meeting (SGM) to address this could be set during the AGM.
Key items on the agenda include inducting new representatives for the general body and the Indian Cricketers’ Association to the IPL Governing Council, appointing a new BCCI representative for the International Cricket Council (ICC), and discussing a report by the internal committee under the Prevention of Sexual Harassment Policy.
Additionally, the AGM will appoint a Cricket Committee, Standing Committee, and a new Umpires Committee as per Rule 27 of the BCCI Constitution. The meeting will also adopt the annual budget for the current financial year, review the secretary’s report for the 2023-24 season, and appoint auditors, an ombudsman, and an ethics officer.
The new NCA, currently operating at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, is set to relocate to its new facility on the outskirts of Bengaluru.
