Guyana and Barbados to take part in CWI Special Conference

The Barbados Cricket Association (BCA) and the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) have confirmed their participation in Cricket West Indies’ (CWI) Special Meeting on February 9, where proposed amendments to the Articles of Association will be put to a vote.

However, in a joint statement issued last evening, both boards expressed disappointment over CWI’s handling of the matter, criticizing the lack of dialogue and transparency in the decision-making process.

The BCA and GCB emphasized their long-standing support for governance reform within CWI, noting that they have previously proposed reforms at Annual General Meetings (AGMs). Their main concern remains the absence of meaningful discussions and what they perceive as a dismissive stance toward their calls for further engagement.
