ICC confirms slight raise in Pakistan cricketers’ contract shares

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) recently announced central contracts for national cricketers after a significant delay.

Several prominent players, including Fakhar Zaman, Imam-ul-Haq, and Sarfaraz Ahmed, were not included in the contracts.

Although the PCB did not secure player signatures before the team’s departure to Australia, it intends to obtain approval via email.

The new contracts maintain the previous match fees and monthly salaries, with a slight increase in the ICC share amount based on a pre-determined formula.

The Test match fee is Rs1,257,795, the ODI fee is Rs644,620, and the T20I fee is Rs418,584.

Category A players, Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan, will receive a monthly contract fee of Rs4.5 million. With the ICC share, set at 3% of the 2024-25 ICC revenue, now increased to Rs2.07 million from Rs1.53 million, their total monthly amount will be Rs6.57 million.

Category B players, including Naseem Shah, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Shan Masood, will receive a monthly salary of Rs3 million. With the ICC share increased to Rs1.552 million (from Rs1.147 million), their monthly total will be Rs4.552 million.

Category C players, such as Abdullah Shafique, Abrar Ahmed, Haris Rauf, Nauman Ali, Saim Ayub, Sajid Khan, Salman Ali Agha, Saud Shakeel, and Shadab Khan, will have a monthly salary of Rs1 million, plus an ICC share of Rs1.035 million, increased from Rs765,000, for a total of Rs2.035 million monthly.

Category D players, including Aamir Jamal, Haseebullah, Kamran Ghulam, Khurram Shahzad, Mir Hamza, Mohammad Abbas Afridi, Mohammad Ali, Mohammad Harira, Mohammad Irfan Khan, Mohammad Wasim Junior, and Usman Khan, will receive a monthly salary of Rs750,000. With the ICC share now at Rs517,500 (up from Rs382,500), their monthly total will be Rs1.267 million.

Additionally, central contract players are compensated for domestic matches, with a fee of Rs628,898 for a four-day match, Rs322,310 for an ODI, and Rs209,292 for a T20 match.
