Rawalpindi, Pakistan – May 19: The HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL X) will observe Breast Cancer Awareness Day during the 30th fixture of the season between Islamabad United and Karachi Kings at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Monday, 19 May. Fans attending the game are encouraged to wear pink in solidarity with the cause.

As part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts, the HBL PSL is collaborating with the Pink Ribbon campaign to raise awareness about the dangers of breast cancer, emphasizing the importance of early detection and support for those impacted.

Special kits, pink caps and ribbons to mark the occasion

Islamabad United will don specially designed pink-themed kits for this match. Karachi Kings and match officials will wear pink caps, while all players, coaching staff, match officials, and commentators will wear pink ribbons throughout the fixture.

The stumps will be branded pink, and awareness messages will be displayed prominently on digital screens and LED perimeter boards around the stadium. Commentators will also contribute by sharing educational messages on breast cancer awareness during the live broadcast.

Free screenings through ticket vouchers

In a significant public health initiative, every ticket for the May 19 match will serve as a voucher for free breast cancer examination and screening. This service is being offered in partnership with Holy Family HospitalBenazir Bhutto Hospital, and Rawalpindi Teaching Hospital (DHQ).

Salman Naseer, Chief Executive Officer of the HBL PSL, said:

“The HBL PSL has always performed its duty of care by creating awareness about health-related issues and supporting noble causes. Breast cancer affects many lives, and it’s essential to prioritize early detection and support those affected.”

This initiative follows a similar campaign earlier in the tournament. On 3 May, the HBL PSL X observed Childhood Cancer Awareness Day during the 23rd match between Quetta Gladiators and Islamabad United at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

With a powerful message and strong participation from teams and fans alike, the HBL PSL X Breast Cancer Awareness Match aims to inspire change and highlight the importance of health advocacy in sports.
