  • You can now support 51 further individuals via fundraising initiative

  • Donate when players score runs, claim wickets or take catches

A further 51 PCA members have signed up to Club Together for Cricket in aid of the Professional Cricketers’ Trust as they look to score runs, claim wickets and take catches in aid of the players’ charity.

You can pledge to donate an amount of your choice on behalf of your favourite county players via the goal giving platform, which enables the Trust to support professional cricketers off the field by championing their performances on it.

The group of 51 is made up of players representing 15 counties, including nine representatives from the PCA Players’ Committee, and will begin fundraising on Thursday 8 April when the first round of the 2021 LV= Insurance County Championship gets underway.

They join the nine players from across the England men’s and women’s squads who have already been supporting the Trust via the Club Together for Cricket campaign during tours of India and New Zealand respectively.

All funds raised from the initiative will go towards the Trust, one of cricket’s leading charities which supports PCA members and their immediate families when they need it most.

Since 2015, 426 individuals have been supported by the players’ charity in the area of mental health, including 94 in 2020 alone.

Demand for the Trust’s services has therefore never been greater, and additionally the charity experienced a fundraising shortfall of £140,000 in 2020 due to the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Signing up to Club Together for Cricket only takes a few minutes, and the platform offers complete flexibility, so you can choose how much you want to donate per run, wicket or catch, put a cap on your donations if you wish, and decide if you want to give regularly or as a one-off.

By making this small gesture and signing up to goal giving in aid of the Trust, you can go a long way to supporting our sport in 2021 and beyond.
