Bio

Isa Guha is a prominent commentator and former women’s international cricketer, having represented England for a decade.

Guha made her debut at the age of 16 representing England Women’s team in 113 matches across the three formats.

Guha was the first British Asian Women to represent England in any sport and was part of the most successful English women’s team that won the ODI and T20 World Cup in 2009 and an Ashes series. She is a 3x Ashes winner and was the ICC number one ranked Women’s Test Bowler in 2008.

Guha is currently working in the Broadcasting Industry as a Commentator / Presenter. She has been operating in global sports broadcast since 2010, when she started work with Sky Sports, where she worked as a pundit, commentator and as a presenter. She started covering Sky Men’s Test Cricket from 2017.

Guha is presently serving BBC Sports, Fox Sports Australia and ESPN Star Sports. She commentated / reported on women’s and men’s matches including 2012 Women’s World T20, 2017 Men’s Champions Trophy and presented the 2019 ODI Men’s World Cup all for ESPN Star Sports.

Previously, Guha served IMG, Sony Pictures Networks Distribution India, ESPN and ITV Careers for a combined 10+years. She presented the cricket World Cup 2015 coverage in Australia for US / Caribbean audiences for ESPN while she was the TV anchor and commentator for the Indian Premier League on ITV 4 from 2011 to 2014.

Guha was a cricket correspondent for AllOut Cricket from June 2012 to Feb 2016, writing various articles She has also written for Wisden, The Telegraph (UK and Australia) Daily Mail, and Guardian. She was featured in VOGUE, GQ India, SPORT and Asiana in the UK and other magazines in India including Femina and Grazia.

Not content with TV Broadcasting alone, Guha also worked in radio as one of the first female voices on BBC Radio 4s Test Match Special. She also worked for Australian FM radio station Triple M as a ball-by-ball commentator and summariser of Aus vs Pak Test series and the Ashes in 2018.

Guha is currently serving as Non-Executive Director for The Professional Cricketers’ Association. She has been in this role since April 2017. She was the first woman to be appointed to the board of the Professional Cricketers’ Association. She was part of the PCA Equality/Diversity/ Inclusion working group and is currently rolling out the EDI education programme. She is PCA’s Trustee for England Women’s Player Partnership looking for commercial sponsors in the quest for parity with the men’s game.

Guha is a Wisden Editorial Board Member and a Patron of Berkshire Cricket Foundation, while also serving as an ambassador for various charities including British Asian Trust, Justice and Care, Sporting Equals and Gotcha4Life.
Guha was awarded the Best Sports Presenter in Oct 2018, issued by Australian Commercial Radio Awards. She also won the BBC Asian Sports Personality of the year award in Oct 2002, and later won the Sony Asian Sports Personality of the year award in Feb 2010.

Guha is a graduate of University College of London (UCL) with a BSc in Biochemistry with a 2.1 Grade and also holds an MPhil in Neuroscience from UCL.
