Cricket Namibia is the custodian of all cricket structures and programs in Namibia. Cricket
Namibia herewith announces a vacancy for the position of National Men’s Coach.
JOB SPECIFICATION
1) Head coach of the National Men’s team
2) Oversee the High-Performance program and the High-Performance Manager
3) Attract, align, and manage support staff to the National men’s team.
4) Ensure on-field winning performances
5) Drive positive team culture and Cricket Namibia values
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
Qualification required:
International Level III coaching qualification.
Experience:
- of coaching top 20 ranked international teams.
- in administering High-Performance programs.
- as a Head Coach at international level.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
The main areas of responsibility under the job specifications are classified below:
1) Head coach of the National Men’s team
• Determine practice schedule
• Lead practice sessions.
2) Oversee the High-Performance program and the High-Performance Manager
• Ensure alignment of the High-Performance program to the National Men’s team.
• Guide the High-Performance Manager to ensure the development and fast-tracking of talent at various age groups.
3) Attract, align, and manage support staff to the National men’s team.
• Identify specific roles for support staff.
• Attract and align support staff to optimise the team’s training and performing environment.
4) Ensure on-field winning performances
• Produce winning performances by the national team at international competitions.
• Qualify for T20 World Cups and ICC CWCL 2 competitions.
5) Drive positive team culture and Cricket Namibia values
• Create a positive team culture.
• Instill Cricket Namibia values in the team environment
BASIC SKILL REQUIREMENTS
The basic skills required for the position:
• Good communication skills – verbal and written
• Computer literate and able to comfortably operate Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
• Advanced administration skills
