WA have confirmed their playing squads for the upcoming Cricket Australia Indoor Cricket National Championships to be played in Queensland, starting tomorrow.

WA will be represented across the Men’s, Under 22 Men’s and the Under 22 Women’s in the week long tournament, with senior Indoor cricketers gathering from all over the country to compete for the national title.

In both Men’s divisions, WA will play against each opposition twice, with the senior Men’s playing 12 matches, while the Under 22’s will compete in eight matches before the finalists are decided.

Meanwhile, due to the low number of team competing across both Women’s divisions, WA will face off against a combination of Under 22s and Open state teams in six fixtures to decide who will progress through to the Finals.

The Open Men’s team will send a very competitive squad, which includes regular Australian representatives Mark Rice, who will captain the side and Josh Fontana, who was appointed vice-captain alongside Blair Oakley.

Talented duo Joshua Fawcett and Angus Bloxham have been picked in their first state Open’s squad, after previously featuring at the junior level.

The Under 22s are a young and exciting group, with over half of the selected squad chosen to be apart of the junior nationals, beginning next week.  The squad are expected to bring plenty of exciting cricket to Queensland and will be led by Cameron Fawcett.

WA will also be sending an Under 22s Women’s side for the first time in over a decade, with the majority of the playing squad making their way through the junior pathways.

Tene Crafford, who was selected by in the Team of the Tournament at last year’s Under 18’s nationals, was selected as captain.
