Job Overview
Working daily within the Participation Team and reporting directly to the Participation Director, the post-holder will work support the development of cricket and the growth of the game in line with the relevant targets in the Cricket Ireland Strategic Plan.

They will support the Participation department and Provincial Unions on programmes/initiatives aimed at meeting the strategic priorities for cricket in Ireland, together with providing any associated support across the Provincial Unions for all agreed national programmes and development initiatives.

    Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee National Programmes growth strategy.
  • Collaborate with Provincial Unions and other stakeholders to foster strong relationships and align development efforts.
  • Identify and implement programs and initiatives to increase participation in cricket at all levels, with a particular focus on youth development.
  • Work with Provincial Unions to identify and deliver strategies to retain participants at all levels of the game.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to Provincial Union Development teams, ensuring they have the necessary resources and support to achieve their development objectives.
  • Conduct regular assessments of the existing cricket development structures and identify areas for improvement or refinement.
  • Work collaboratively with the CI Talent Pathway Manager to develop and review Long Term Athlete Development plans and player pathways which support long term participation in the game.
  • Collaborate with relevant National and International cricket bodies to stay abreast of best practices and developments in cricket development.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of all national & development programs, tracking key performance indicators and making data-driven decisions to improve outcomes.
  • Work closely with marketing and communications teams to promote cricket development
    initiatives and increase public awareness of the sport.
  • Prepare and manage the budget for cricket development activities, ensuring optimal
    allocation of resources to achieve desired outcomes.

    Key Qualities
  • A passion for cricket is an advantage.
  • A comprehensive understanding of sport development and of the sporting structures and
    pathway.
  • Proven experience in sport development, preferably at a national or regional level.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire teams and stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of grassroots sports development and the ability to design and implement programs to engage and develop the game.
  • Familiarity with talent identification and player pathway programmes.
  • Ability to analyse data and use it to drive decision-making.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic and evolving sporting environment.
  • A degree in sports management, physical education, or a related
    field is preferred.

    REMUNERATION
  • Position: permanent and full time
  • Position location: Cricket Ireland Office, Unit 15c Kinsealy Business Park, Kinsealy K36CD70 PROCESS
