Adelaide Strikers have been travelling the world, making international debuts and winning flags this off-season.

Last year’s Player of the Tournament Matt Short was rewarded for his outstanding BBL|13 season, making his Australia debut in a T20 series against South Africa.

He quickly impressed, making 66 runs off only 30 balls in the second match as Australia clean swept the series.

Short opened the batting with Strikers teammate Travis Head, who was named Man of the Match in the final game thanks to his innings of 91 runs off 48 balls.

Amanda-Jade Wellington has won her third title in the last 12 months, recently winning the   Women’s Caribbean Premier League (WCPL) with the Barbados Royals.

This adds to her winning the Fairbank International and – most importantly – the WBBL|08 Championship.

The leg-spinner took 4-23 in the WCPL final as they went on to beat the Guyana Amazon Warriors by eight runs in the final, while in an earlier game she delivered the ball of the tournament to bowl the Warriors’ Suzie Bates.

Wellington also played for the Manchester Originals in The Hundred, alongside Strikers teammate Laura Wolvaardt, who is currently captaining South Africa in an ODI series against Pakistan.

The Hundred also featured new Strikers Danielle Gibson (London Spirit) and Jamie Overton (Originals), with Overton named Player of the Tournament.

Strikers WBBL coach Luke Williams was assistant coach of the winning women’s team, Southern Brave, while Adam Hose and Short represented the Northern Superchargers.

Recently re-signed Striker Chris Lynn has been playing in T20 competitions around the world, winning titles with the Gulf Giants in the UAE ILT20 and Montreal Tigers in GT20 Canada.

Rashid Khan also added another title to his resume, helping MI New York to the inaugural Major League Cricket championship in July.

This was after Rashid finished second on the wicket-tally list in the Indian Premier League and amongst his Afghanistan commitments in the Asia Cup.

Rashid, Wellington, Lynn and Williams aren’t the only Strikers to recently win, with Katie Mack and Jemma Barsby winning the KFC T20 Max competition in Queensland with the Sandgate-Redcliffe Gators.

Strikers recruits D’Arcy Short, James Bazley and Brendan Doggett were also involved in the competition, as were Annie O’Neil, Maddie Penna and Jake Weatherald.
