One of Australia’s brightest young talents has signed with the Melbourne Renegades on a two-year deal.

Emerging batter Harry Dixon has committed to the Renegades until the end of BBL|14.

The 18-year-old Victorian has risen through the ranks as a hard-hitting, left-handed opener.

Dixon is currently representing Australia U19s – and scored 167 and 83 in a four-day match against England U19s in Worcester this week.

“I’m really excited to be joining the Renegades for the next two years,” Dixon said.

“I’ve always wanted to play in the Big Bash and it’s great to be joining a squad with some of the biggest names in Australia.

“I can’t wait to share a locker room with guys like Aaron Finch, Shaun Marsh, Nic Maddinson and Nathan Lyon. I’m looking forward to getting into it, learning as much as I can and becoming the best player I can.”

The St Kilda CC product has featured in multiple series for Australia U19s over the past nine months.

Dixon burst onto the scene with 148 in a one-day game in February – including nine sixes – also against England U19s, in Brisbane.

In the same month, he added a maiden Premier 1st XI century following his youth international duties.

“Harry’s one of the country’s most promising batters and we’re thrilled to have him agree to join our club,” Melbourne Renegades General Manager, James Rosengarten, said.

“We’ve got a wealth of experienced players within our group and also some exciting young talent like Will Sutherland and Harry. Harry has all the attributes to be a successful player in this format of the game for a long period of time.”

The Renegades will begin their BBL|13 campaign on December 8 against the Sydney Sixers at the SCG, with their first home game on December 10 against the Perth Scorchers in Geelong.

BBL|13 Squad (so far): Nic Maddinson (c), Quinton de Kock, Harry Dixon, Aaron Finch, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Mackenzie Harvey, Nathan Lyon, Shaun Marsh, Kane Richardson, Tom Rogers, Peter Siddle, Will Sutherland, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Jon Wells, Adam Zampa.

Memberships are also now on sale, available from just $60 for Adults and $15 for Children, for access to three BBL games and every WBBL game.

Our membership package options are available here, with Mates Rates pricing available until September 18.
