Melbourne Renegades’ WBBL|09 fixture revealed

Captain Sophie Molineux and her Melbourne Renegades teammates are looking forward to the upcoming season, following the announcement of the Weber WBBL|09 fixture today. 

The 14-game season will see the Renegades host all seven home matches in St Kilda at the CitiPower Centre, before a blockbuster away game against the Melbourne Stars at the MCG creating eight opportunities for Renegades members and fans to see the team play in Melbourne. 

General Manager of the Melbourne Renegades James Rosengarten said “It’s fantastic to provide our Renegades members and fans with so many opportunities to see our team take to the field for WBBL|09.”

“There are plenty of family-friendly times to attend games at the CitiPower Centre and see the team up close. Further to that, we have increased our free-to-air TV games this season to five for our fans to catch the Renegades even if they can’t make it to the ground.”

The season starts with a Friday twilight game at the CitiPower Centre against the Brisbane Heat on October 20, before the Renegades host the WBBL|08 Champion Adelaide Strikers in another twilight contest on Monday October 23.

Renegades members and fans can look forward to more weekend games, as the team take on the Sydney Sixers on Saturday October 28 and play a back-to-back fixture on Saturday November 11 and Sunday November 12 against the Perth Scorchers and Melbourne Stars at the CitiPower Centre.

Rounding out the home fixtures, the team will host the Sydney Sixers in St Kilda on Wednesday November 1 and host their last home game against the Hobart Hurricanes on Sunday November 19.

The final match of the WBBL|09 season will see the Renegades prepare for a landmark game at the MCG against the Melbourne Stars on Saturday November 25, where all Renegades members will gain free entry into the ground.
