Casey Fields in Cranbourne and Jubilee Park in Ringwood will both host a WBBL game this season.

Some of the world’s best female cricketers will be on show as the Melbourne Stars will head to Ringwood and Casey for two WBBL fixtures this season.

Australian superstars such as Meg Lanning, Ellyse Perry, Alyssa Healy, Ash Gardner, Annabel Sutherland, Kim Garth and Phoebe Litchfield will headline the matches at Jubilee Park and Casey Fields.

Fans will get closer than ever to their world cup winning heroes and the next generation of Aussie cricketers, with both events expected to sell out.

“The Stars have a huge fanbase on the eastern side of Melbourne and we thank both the Maroondah City Council and the City of Casey for their support of these events,” said Melbourne Stars General Manager, Blair Crouch.

“These are household names that will be playing in our own backyard and it’s a wonderful opportunity for our local cricket communities to be exposed to elite women’s cricket and inspire the next generation.

“We look forward to announcing some more details around our community activity as we get closer to the tournament.”

It will be the first time Casey has hosted a WBBL match since December, 2018.

“We’re thrilled to be able to host professional sports such as the WBBL match at Casey Fields, making these events more accessible to our community and inspiring the next generation of cricket stars,” said Casey Chief Executive Officer, Glenn Patterson.

Maroondah Mayor Councillor Rob Steane said the community was excited to be welcoming Australia’s elite female cricketers to Jubilee Park including the recently opened Maroondah Edge, the first of four state-of-the-art indoor cricket training centres to be built in Victoria.

“Encouraging more women to participate in sport has been a major focus of Council over many years. We are proud to have partnered with the Victorian Government and Cricket Victoria to build Maroondah Edge.

“We look forward to being able to showcase these facilities on the world stage, which will no doubt inspire our local women and girls to continue on their sporting journey,” Cr Steane said.
