The Hobart Hurricanes recognises the effort the KFC Big Bash League has gone to in ensuring that the remainder of KFC BBL|11 can be completed in a manner that maintains the integrity of the tournament in the face of COVID-19 complexities.

Today, the League has announced that in the interest of the health and safety of all players, match officials, staff, fans and the wider community, from January 10, a significant number of the remaining KFC BBL|11 matches will be relocated for a number of days. This includes the Hurricanes scheduled First Nations Round match against the Sydney Thunder, due to be held at Launceston’s University of Tasmania Stadium on January 10. All fixtures up to and held on January 9 will remain as currently scheduled.

The Hurricanes’ January 17 clash with the Melbourne Renegades at Blundstone Arena in Hobart also requires re-scheduling due to the 5th Ashes Test being played in Hobart. The location of this match is yet to be confirmed.

Whilst it is disappointing that the current schedule means we won’t be returning to play any regular season matches in front of our fans in Launceston and Hobart again this year, we recognise the importance in ensuring the remainder of the season can be played in a manner that is safe for all involved.

Ticket holders will be contacted by the responsible ticket outlets to discuss refunds.

Revised Hobart Hurricanes KFC BBL|11 Schedule: January 10-13

January 10, 2:10pm AEDT: Hobart Hurricanes v Sydney Thunder, Melbourne Cricket Ground. (Seven, Foxtel & Kayo)

January 13, 3:45pm AEDT: Sydney Thunder v Hobart Hurricanes, Marvel Stadium. (Foxtel & Kayo)
